One of the many advantages of living with 5 of your friends is that your wardrobe is expanded by almost five times! I’ve been focusing my blog on how us girls are trying to buy/do things to make our house more of a “Green House” (hence the title of my blog :)) Since we go through so  many articles of clothing, I thought I should include a post about what we are going to try to do to make our style more eco-friendly. Well luckily for me, one of my roommates recently bought a pair of jeans that are called “Raw Denim.”

Essentially, Raw Denim is jeans you “never” have to wash. It is untreated and untouched, pretty much in it’s purest form. They are typically made with 100% cotton. You can soak them in water after you first buy them and they may shrink 5-10%…but after that, when you wash them is up to you. The process by which these jeans are produced is environmentally friendly, and the water you save by not washing them constantly is significant. Although they aren’t cheap, they last for a long time and will save you money on your water bill. You can read more about Raw Denim here.

I have also found a clothing website called They have super cute clothes, and they take measures to use organic and recycled material, low-impact dyes, and energy conservation. Their prices are pretty standard, but right now they are doing 20% off on all orders over $100 + free shipping. You also get 15% off if you sign up for their mailing list. Perfect for this time of the year if you want to treat your loved ones with environmentally friendly fashionable clothing!
